DANBURY, CT (June 18, 2025) — United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut (UWCWC) is proud to announce the election of two new members to its Board of Directors: Rowena Bergmans, Chief Value Officer at Nuvance Health, and José Juan Casarrubias Adame, Chief Risk Officer – Investments at Genworth. Their election took place at the June 17, 2025, Board of Directors meeting.

Child Tax Credit 

As we move through the final 4 weeks of the legislative session, bills and budgets will be negotiated and heard on the floor. The CT Child Tax Credit is included in the budget proposal, but that does not guarantee that it will pass as-is at the end of session June 4th.  

We’re closer than ever — let’s finish strong! We can create a meaningful CT Child Tax Credit that uplifts families and communities.
