HOW IT WORKS
The Food Farmacy of Greater Danbury is a collaborative effort between United Way Coastal and Western CT (UWCWC), Nuvance Health, Connecticut Institute for Communities (CIFC), Community Action Agency of Western CT (CAAWC), and UCONN College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources.
Participants are referred by medical professionals and receive free, nutritious food tailored to support their specific health needs, such as managing diabetes or heart disease. By addressing both hunger and health, the Food Farmacy provides participants with essential nutrition education, cooking demonstrations, and connections to other vital services to manage their health.
