Help Your Clients Navigate SNAP and Medicaid Updates

Connecticut United Ways and the CT Department of Social Services invite you to an informational webinar for providers supporting clients on Monday, May 11 at 2pm where you can learn more from our state leaders about updates to SNAP and Medicaid benefits, who is affected by these updates and the resources available to help you serve your clients. During the virtual session, state leaders will discuss the following:
- Maintaining SNAP & Medicaid benefits
- Documenting work, volunteer, or education activities
- What to do if benefits are lost
AgingCT: Statewide access to Information, Support and Services
Five regional Area Agencies on Aging joined efforts to centralize access to assistance and resources for older residents under AgingCT. Residents in all eight counties in Connecticut can contact AgingCT to get connected to community providers, senior center directors, resident service coordinators, and state and federal resources.
Residents can visit agingct.org/ or call 800-994-9422 to get connected to local resources like Caregiver Support, Senior Nutrition, Service Navigation, Benefits Screening, Information & Referral Assistance (including Transportation), and more.

Get Assistant with SNAP Changes
Mondays | 9:00 – 1:00 PM at 76 South Main St
The Alliance for Community Empowerment and Person to Person have partnered to help Norwalk residents navigate recent SNAP changes. Alliance case workers will provide SNAP education related to HR1 changes and offer on-site SNAP enrollment assistance at Person to Person in Norwalk. All community members are welcome.

Adult Civic Fellows Program
Bridgeport residents don’t miss this opportunity! The University of Bridgeport Office of Civic Engagement is accepting applications for the Adult Civic Fellows Program. Eligible recipients can receive a $5,000 stipend while gaining valuable experience in civic leadership training, community, and voter education. Applicants must be 18 or older and currently be Bridgeport residents. This program begins June 2026. Apply Here
Opioid Overdose Postvention Training

The City of Bridgeport Health Department is partnering with Catalyst CT for a FREE Opioid Overdose Postvention Training! This training is free and open to all. Participants will receive an Opioid Overdose Rescue Kit (OORK). Learn life-saving tools, resources, and support for during and after an overdose. Registration is required.
