TAKE ACTION

Congress Is Making Big Decisions — Make Sure They Hear from Connecticut Families

While Connecticut's session is over, key federal decisions are underway. The House passed its version of the budget reconciliation bill — The Senate is voting now. If it passes, it returns to the House to consider Senate changes, then heads to the President for final approval.

Tell Senators Blumenthal and Murphy: Put Families First

It takes just two minutes to make your voice heard. Urge our Senators to:

✅ Keep the expanded Child Tax Credit — At least $2,500 per child with full refundability
✅ Protect Medicaid and SNAP — No cuts, no rollbacks
✅ Strengthen the Earned Income Tax Credit — A proven tool for working families

UWCWC and C2C Coalition Updates

Our team is staying active this summer — advancing advocacy efforts, deepening civic engagement, and strengthening the strategic partnerships that make lasting change possible.

C2C Policy Highlights
Connecticut Cradle to Career Coalition on Capitol Hill

The Connecticut Cradle to Career Coalition joined national partners at the StriveTogether 2025 Policy Summit in Washington, D.C., engaging in federal policy sessions and meeting with our congressional delegation to elevate local solutions to national challenges.

  • Youth Disconnection = National Crisis: We called for federal recognition of youth disconnection as a public health and economic emergency, building on CT data and the 119K Commission’s Young People First plan.
  • Community Schools as ALICE Infrastructure: We pushed to restore funding for Full-Service Community Schools—key to stabilizing ALICE families with embedded support in schools.
  • Local Leadership, National Impact: Through testimony and data-driven advocacy, our Coalition demonstrated the trust and community power needed to lead. We left D.C. with stronger federal connections.

CT Voices for Children Roadmap to Fully Funded Communities

Last week, we joined CT Voices for Children, All Our Kin, and community partners at the Stamford Boys & Girls Club for the Roadmap to Fully Funded Communities series — a community-led conversation on Connecticut’s fiscal controls.

The event unpacked how state-imposed fiscal constraints are limiting investments in critical supports for children and families — from a state-level Child Tax Credit to affordable housing, healthcare, and high-quality childcare. Research shared at the event highlighted responsible ways the state can raise revenue to fund what our communities need most.

Join us for the next stop of the roadshow at the Danbury Public Library August 28th from 5:30-7:30 pm. 📝Registration is open click here
